Sindre Østgård Steps Down from the Katapult System

Nordic Impact, Katapult Ocean, and Sindre Østgård agreed on 13 August 2025 that Østgård will step down as Chair of Katapult Ocean and as General Partner of DB1 and all roles in entities affiliated with Katapult.

His departure followed dialogue with both the board and investors.

“Sindre has played an important role in the development of Katapult over the years, particularly Katapult Ocean, as both Chair and Partner. After a period of constructive dialogue, we have jointly concluded that Sindre will step out of Katapult. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” says Tharald Nustad, Founder of Katapult.

Østgård no longer represents Katapult or Katapult Ocean, has stepped down from all board positions, and has divested his shares in affiliated companies. He states that he plans to focus more of his time on We Are Human, a platform for impact investing in technology-based solutions to social and environmental challenges.

“It has been a privilege to help build Katapult Ocean and to bridge capital with ocean-positive solutions. I am proud of what we have accomplished and grateful for the collaboration with so many talented people across the Katapult ecosystem. I will continue to be a strong supporter of investing in and backing companies that have a positive impact on the ocean,” says Østgård.

Going forward, Katapult will continue to focus its efforts on Katapult Ocean, Katapult Africa, and the Katapult Impact Platform, as well as its non-profit arms, Katapult Foundation and Katapult Future Fest. In addition to Nustad, the Katapult leadership team now includes Eirik Svendsen (CEO of the Katapult Impact Platform), Jonas Skattum Svegaarden (CEO of Katapult Ocean), and Alison Fort (Head of Katapult Foundation).
