Betterfly secures Series B funding

Betterfly for social impact

Katapult’s portfolio company Betterfly has raised a $60 million Series B in Latin America’s largest insurtech round!

Founders Eduardo della Maggiora, Cristóbal della Maggiora and former CPO David Alvo joined our accelerator program in 2019: “I’ve experienced incubation and acceleration programs all around the world and Katapult is, without a doubt, the accelerator with better outcomes for the entrepreneurs. We were going at 100 kmh and now we are at 250 kmh with a motor that works better and a chassis that resists more. I feel honoured to be a KA Alumni, committed to help and excited to see what’s coming.”

Now, two years later, Betterfly has developed into a rapidly growing purpose-driven employee engagement platform that rewards a team’s healthy habits with charitable donations and no-cost life insurance coverage.

Their Series B round arrived just six months after a $18 million Series A investment. The Series B includes venture capitalists from around the world, including: DST Global, QED Investors, Valor Capital, Endeavor Catalyst and the SoftBank Latin America Fund.

According to founder Eduardo, this Series B funding will be used to “double-down on [their] platform, growth and team, and continue using the power of technology, empathy and social purpose to bring our vision to life, and protect the future of 100 million families.”

We couldn’t be more proud to be an impact investor in Betterfly’s journey for social good.
